Honoring Lives, Sparking Conversations: Portraits for Prevention
May is Mental Health Awareness Month—a time to reflect, connect, and speak honestly about the invisible struggles that affect so many. It’s also a time for action, which is why I’m sharing the heart behind my Portraits for Prevention project.
This series began as a personal tribute: a set of limited-edition portraits of public figures we lost to suicide. Each image is meant to humanize, not sensationalize—capturing not just who they were, but the echo of what they meant to others. As someone who has had a history of depression and various other mental health hurdles, this project is deeply important to continue and evolve.
To help these portraits reach more people and spark more conversations, I’ve created a postcard pack featuring the full set of illustrations of Anthony Bourdain, Robin Williams, Chester Bennington, Kurt Cobain, and Chris Cornell. These aren’t just for mailing—they’re for remembering, reflecting, and reclaiming space for mental health discussions.
25% of all proceeds will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to support education, prevention efforts, and healing.
Why This Matters
We live in a culture that often notices too late. This project asks: What if we remembered differently—with art, with grief, and with hope.
Each postcard is a small gesture with a larger ripple. It can sit on a desk, be tucked into a book, or mailed to someone who needs to hear, I’m thinking of you.
